The personal data protection agencies of Angola and São Tomé and Príncipe, represented by their Chairpersons, Maria das Dores Pinto (APD) and José Manuel Costa Alegre (ANPDP), initialed, this last Thursday, (15 June), a partnership agreement, with the aim of promoting a greater public culture on privacy and protection of personal data.

According to the agreement, the training of staff, precisely the carrying out of professional internships and the exchange of specialists in the field of personal data are priorities for both agencies, while also prioritizing the shared use of public awareness instruments, such as documents and audiovisual materials. APD and ANPDP also intend to cooperate in the joint effort to build a network for the protection of personal data for Portuguese-speaking countries.
The search for common solutions to numerous issues, such as artificial intelligence, children's privacy and regulation, make up, in a subsidiary way, the content of the agreement signed in Luanda, at the premises of the Data Protection Agency.
The meeting was witnessed by senior officials from the two agencies, with emphasis on the Executive Director of the APD, Paulo Pedro, and the Member of the ANPDP, Briggit Nascimento.
